Wes Butler is the owner, founder, and operator of Bandit Guitar Repair.
He’s based in Granbury, TX, just outside Dallas/Fort Worth, and has worked around the world as a touring guitar tech and repair specialist.
Wes picked up the nickname “Bandit” from fellow musicians in the Texas Country Music scene in the mid-2010s — and it stuck.
Who is Bandit?
Wes takes pride in every repair that leaves his bench.
He focuses on the details that matter — playability, tone, and longevity — and treats every instrument with care and respect.
Professional players trust him to keep their instruments ready for the road, the studio, or their personal collections.
He’s equally committed to helping new and younger players grow. His philosophy is simple:
“A guitar that’s hard to play shouldn’t be a barrier to learning music.”
That approach comes from his early mentors at Maple Street Guitars in Atlanta, GA, where he learned that setup quality can make or break a player’s progress.
Why Choose Bandit?
Will Bandit steal your stuff??
No — just your heart.
Known for quality work and prompt service, Wes delivers results that keep players coming back.
What Customers and Nationally Touring Artists think of Bandit’s work:
David Crowder
“Wes ‘Bandit’ Butler is legend in the field and has been my tech and straight-up gear guru for years. I’ve entrusted my guitars and signal chain to him; and, if there was ever an issue, he’s solved it, both on and off the road.”
Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses
“Wes […] intuitively knows how to look for problems before they start. I’d be completely oblivious to issues my guitars and entire rig were facing. Problems solved before they even start.”
Evan Felker of Turnpike Troubadours
“[The D-18 has always been funny […] it’s so much better. I’m so glad he worked on my guitars.]'“
Dexter and The Moonrocks
”There's nobody that we trust more with our guitars than Bandit. Every time we get those guitars back, it feels just like the day we first got them. They feel absolutely brand new and almost play themselves."
